Some people feel entitled to "getting something" for free from the government just because they've paid taxes all their lives, but the money was never meant for them as an individual. The tax money is there to uphold the quality of life for everyone, and to help people in true need. The song also protests government bailouts, and parachute agreements for politicians which all come out of the taxpayer's pockets. The common worked pays for everything, all while shackled by debt.
